Adult Education

There are many opportunities for adult intellectual enrichment at The Birmingham Temple. Courses on Jewish history, culture and humanistic philosophy are offered regularly.

Shabbat Study Hour
The Saturday Shabbat Study Hour meets Saturdays from 9:30 am-10:30 am. 
Natan Fuchs teaches the class.  Natan is a rabbinic student in the International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism.  Join us for an incredible learning experience as we study biblical texts from a humanistic perspective.

Monday Night Class
The Monday Night Class meets Mondays from 7:00 pm-8:00 pm. 
Rabbi Kolton teaches the Monday Night Class.  This year we will travel the journey of Jewish history from the beginning of the Hebrew people until modern times.  We now have both a Bar/Bat Mitzvah and a Confirmation track for students.  If you never had a Bar or Bat-Mitzvah, now is your opportunity.  Join us as history comes alive!

The Birmingham Temple Forum
Forums take place several Monday nights a year at The Birmingham Temple, from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm, well-known guest speakers explore Jewish and world history, politics, social action issues. Book reviews of current literature are also offered.
